Richard Wilkinson a UK based amazing artist has given his fair share of creativity to Star Wars. Richard’s fantastic creatures are really going to creep on you. He is known around the world for picturing illustrations of digital editorials with emotions, attention, lighting and details. So, basically Richard Wilkinson’s work is on an illustration project which is transforming galaxy’s creatures, characters and ships etc into mind-blowing remarkable insects’ collection. This illustration project by Richard is called “Anthropoda Iconicus Illustrations”. Richard’s “Arthropoda Iconicus” shows his obsession with popular culture and literature of natural history. He has not only used Star Wars’ colorful camouflage as an inspiration but he has also shown that each bug is coming with a family, species and genus which in turn complete the identity of these imaginary insects. Richard has worked with number of big clients which include Harper Collins, Random House, Saatchi & Saatchi BBH, The Telegraph, New Scientist and TIME Magazine etc. This is truly amazing that he knows the degrees of passion towards his incredible illustrations.

Richard Wilkinson has given a classical boundary of imagining the fantastic Star Wars into real renderings i.e. life – like crawling insects. From Chewbacca’s scientific name “Chaetebarbatus Bonamicii” to R2D2’s scientific name of “Roboduobus Deoduobus”, Richard Wilkinson has given each insect a cheeky name which is totally in relation to its scientific counterpart and is showing all its Latin roots. Richard Wilkinson is really keen to catalogue the things that he find very interesting around the world. Such things keep on fascinating him. Richard is very much attracted towards Natural History world. Nature has embedded the world with great wonders like huge mountain ranges, deserts, seas, oceans and jungles etc. Collections of birds, shells, frogs, ferns, beetles and sheep etc have always given pleasure and attraction to Richard Wilkinson.

Richard Wilkinson is also known for creating these incredible illustrations for number of publications like Intelligent Life Magazine and New Scientist. There are number of culture pop characters like Disney, Marvel Comics and Pokemon that are emerged from the first ten illustrations from Richard’s upcoming book Arthropoda Iconicus Volume I and these ten illustrations are found under the title, “Insects From A Far Away Galaxy”. This book shows the insects’ collection that bear supernatural and very precise resemblance to vehicles and characters from galaxy. 60+ illustrations are found in this volume. This book by Richard Wilkinson is supposed to be launched by the end of this year’s summer. According to Richard, he is very passionate about this book and is excited the same moment. He says that this book is a complete picture of imaginary insects that bear uncanny resemblance to many famous culture signatures. Picking any one from them is difficult as Richard’s work is amazing that you will fall for each of these colorful camouflaged insect. The major inspiration of Richard Wilkinson is to catalogue the wonders whether they are from Gotham City, The Amazon, Alderaan, Mushroom Kingdom, Madagascar or Guatemala etc. All such things inspired Richard Wilkinson to make an incredible encyclopedia of insects.
