Animated series

Concept by Thomas Hautaniemi

A global catastrophe transforms the world as we know it into a scrappy playground FULL of human-garbage! Oh – and enough mutant animals to scrounge through it all day long… As this new way of life fumbles to find its feet, three great heroes Kurimul (a fierce dugong elder!), Alira (a snarky, cyborg dugong) and Bunji (their eager, turtle apprentice) find themselves swinging into action; to protect the weak, help the needy and battle against their grubby, arch nemesis: The Toad – before his evil plot to poison their bold, new world plummets them into further chaos!

KURIMUL

Lover of the phrase “back in my day…”, and Hater of Evil, Kurimul the Warrior Dugong is one tough, quite old – kinda chewy – cookie. Yum!? Don’t be fooled by his bangin’ physique, Kurimul’s quite an old soul – with years of knowledge, and memories of the old world, worth passing down to his younger Marine Team-teammates. If time has taught him anything, it’s that you must hold on to who and what you love, and protect them with all you’ve got.

ALIRA

What’s got a great attitude and two cybernetic thumbs? This dugong! Alira’s not like anyone else – meeting her is like being hit by an unstoppable train of “Yes I can!”. She doesn’t hold onto the past quite like Kurimil does – She keeps her chin up, and her eyes on the horizon – knowing that sometimes losing something will only make you stronger. And, if you’re lucky, you might even end up with fully-sick cyborg arms!

BUNJI

The Marine Team could not be complete without a kick-ass, yet quirky, apprentice – and so enters Bunji! The tween-age, mutant, boomerang-throwing turtle, with a knack for old, human tech, and a hopeless desire for… rrrrRomance! *swoons* When she’s not busy thwarting evil or building gadgets, Bunji is usually found being equal parts social, and socially inept… How could someone so smart be so blindly naive? Unfortunately, she just can’t help her friendly, curious nature, which can often get her, Kurimul and Alira mixed up in a lot of trouble. Luckily, her phenomenal brain power can always puzzle a way out for the Marine Team, and her inventions are sure to pack an awkwardly wrapped, hard shelled punch!

THE TOAD

Some call him psychotic and menacing, others call him their boss – either way, The Toad’s has a diabolical plan to turn up the heat on Global Warming, in order to expand his swampy, muggy offices, and become Ruler (or at least majority shareholder) of the World! Muahaha! *Ahem*… But for now, he’s got a pretty sweet setup to be honest. The Toad (also known by his mother as Gerald) lives in, works at and barely leaves the comforts of his evil, clinical lair; but is known to occasionally send out a goon or a minion to do his grocery shoppi – err, I mean, his bidding. But it’s not all smooth sailing; after all, Good vs. Evil is a tough industry these days, with these Marine Team do-gooders out there running about. But no matter… For in his sick, twisted mind, The Toad will always have a new business strategy up his sleeve to destroy the Marine Team! After all, when it comes to Corporate Corruption, he’s the boss.
